Erudus Upgrade: Information for Manufacturers

Changes to Gluten

Should they wish to, Manufacturers can now make definitive gluten-free claims about their products, and can take advantage of more granularity when declaring gluten concentration for gluten sources in their products.

Enhanced Characteristics

Further characteristics are being added to make our specification data more comprehensive for the product. This robustness of the data will potentially allow Manufacturers to use Erudus as an internal system - particuarly given the added benefit that if this data is available on the specification it is also accessible to Wholesalers, and the Manufacturer will not need to respond to additional requests for this information.

New Free-from Claims

Many Manufacturers make Free-from claims on-pack. This enhancement allows Manufacturers to more accurately convey their on-pack information in Erudus.

This new feature will save Manufacturers time, and make the specification publication process much easier and more streamlined.

A new accreditations list

Erudus Manufacturers will be able to document their accreditations more completely (and accurately) - in turn making them easier to access by Wholesalers.

A new packaging model

This new model makes Erudus specifications more robust, by having more specific information available and offering attributes that document packaging layers more accurately. This is advantageous on several accounts - firstly, by utilising the new packaging data model Manufacturers can reduce requests for additional information from their customers - saving time and human resources by removing the need to source and send this information to individuals that request it. It can also help Manufacturers comply with the upcoming Extended Producer Responsibility legislation.

Improved Product Specification Type

This makes filling out a product specification quicker and easier. Manufacturers will only be presented with attributes that are relevant to them, streamlining the whole process. There is less to fill in, or consider filling in when using the new product editor, and no need to skip past certain attributes that aren’t relevant to the product.

Removal of Monthly Data Confirmations

User feedback has indicated that MDCs are a pain point for our Manufacturer users, and we understand that it can be seen as a needless chore for those businesses who do not change their product recipes or manufacturing processes regularly. As such, we’ve been keen to introduce new processes that forgo this obligation and save our customers time and resources whilst still retaining the integrity of our data.

This new tool makes a Manufacturer’s specifications easier to find in the Erudus Data Pool by using more recognisable data, and makes it easier to manage specifications at a brand level in larger Manufacturer accounts.
