New Process Change: Removal of MDCs

Erudus is getting a major upgrade - improvements to the system, exciting new features, additions that have come as a direct result of user feedback. We launch 8 January 2024, and with that date looming we’re sharing a host of previews about what’s coming.

This time we’re looking at a process change sure to excite many of our users - the removal of Monthly Data Confirmations...

What is an MDC (Monthly Data Confirmation)?

Monthly data confirmation is an alert we currently send to Manufacturers using Erudus, requiring them to acknowledge a notice on their account once a month that states that all of the product data in their account is up to date and accurate. From the 8th January we will be removing the MDC and Manufacturers will no longer receive it.

Why are we getting rid of MDCs?

User feedback has indicated that MDCs are a pain point for our Manufacturer users, and we understand that it can be seen as a needless chore for those businesses who do not change their product recipes or manufacturing processes regularly. As such, we’ve been keen to introduce new processes that forgo this obligation and save our customers time and resources whilst still retaining the integrity of our data.

What are we doing instead of MDCs?

Going forward, MDCs will be replaced by ad hoc product reviews and account activity. We will also be making sure that product specifications left un-reviewed for over 3 years will be removed from the platform. This is to ensure that there can be confidence in the data held in Erudus throughout the supply chain, and reduce the risk of out-dated specifications being left unreviewed.

Manufacturers will be notified of any specifications that are older than 3 years first in-app and then through the Erudus team.

When does this change kick in?

As with all the other additions and improvements coming to the platform, the removal of MDCs will start from 8 January 2024.

Do Manufacturers need to do anything before the new process takes place?

There is no requirement for users to do anything ahead of the changes being implemented, but since our reviews will be rigorous we strongly recommend that Manufacturers look over any ageing product specifications and update them prior to this date.

This will ensure a smooth transition to the improved system, and reduce the risk of their specifications being removed from Erudus.
