What is the new Free-from section?

The Free-from section is a new section on Erudus product specifications that allows Manufacturers to make ‘Free-from’ claims about any of the 14 major food allergens.

This will be instead of declaring the absence of an allergen in the ingredients declaration by marking ’No’ in the various allergen declarations.

With the new Free-from section you will be able to declare that the product is free from an allergen. This can be substantiated through regular testing (as is best practice when making a free-from claim).

Why have we brought in a Free-from section?

We have added this section to the Product Editor as many Manufacturers make Free-from claims on-pack. This enhancement allows Manufacturers to more accurately convey their on-pack information in Erudus.

What is the benefit of this new section for our users?

As mentioned above, the new Free-from section allows Manufacturers to more accurately convey their on-pack information in Erudus. For Wholesalers, this adds another attribute to specifications, to allow for better filtering on e-commerce platforms, to make shopping for allergen-free products much easier
