New Feature: Schema Viewer

Erudus has had a major upgrade - improvements to the system, exciting new features, and additions that have come as a direct result of user feedback.

Now Manufacturer and Wholesaler users have access to the schemas through their Erudus account - so here’s everything you need to know...

What is the Schema viewer?

The new Schema viewer details the data model for each specification type on Erudus, providing the following information:

  • Attribute names
  • Validations for attributes (if applicable)
  • Whether this particular attribute is mandatory
  • If a change to the attribute invokes a major or minor change with regards to revision and version control

How can users access the Schema viewer?

Manufacturers can access the Schema viewer when adding a new product to Erudus, and Wholesalers can access it when viewing their product range via the Wholesaler dashboard on Erudus.

Why have we introduced the Schema Viewer?

We have introduced this new tool so that Manufacturers can use this enhanced view of the data model to better understand what minimum data requirements there are on specifications, and consequently what is expected of them when filling them out. Similarly, the Schema viewers gives Wholesalers an understanding of what the expectations are of their Erudus-using suppliers.

How does the introduction of the Schema viewer benefit our users?

As a resource for our users to view the data model, the Schema viewer makes it unnecessary for users to take time to contact Erudus for information regarding specification requirements, instead allowing them to self-serve the information at their own convenience.

How is the Schema viewer useful for API users?

If you are pulling data out of Erudus through API, the Schema viewer is a great resource to understand what kinds of data you can expect to find.

What does schema mean?

Schema is a framework that helps organise and interpret information. So the new Erudus Schema viewer helps our users organise and interpret information regarding our specification requirements.
