Erudus Update: How to turn on the new product change alerts

Erudus is getting a major upgrade - improvements to the system, exciting new features, additions that have come as a direct result of user feedback. The launch date is 8 January 2024, and in the run up we've been sharing previews of what’s coming. This time we’re going a step further with a step-by-step guide to enabling the new product change alerts feature…

Before you start...

Decide which alerts you would like to receive (if you need a refresher on the new Product Change Alerts feature you can do so here). You can select from:

All Changes

This means you will receive alerts for both major and minor changes to a product specification. Major changes mean that the product has been altered enough to require a new barcode - such as a nutritional panel change. A minor change is a modification to the product that does not require a barcode change - for example, reducing the amount of salt from 4g to 3.8g.

Major Changes Only

This means you receive alerts only when a product has changed to a degree that it needs a new barcode. Reasons include a brand name change, a new product formulation, changes to dimensional or gross weight or the addition or removal of a certification mark.

Allergen Changes Only

This means you receive alerts when there is any change to an allergenic attribute on a product’s specification. This might be a change to the ‘May Contain’ declaration, or the addition of or subtraction of allergenic ingredients to the product formulation.

The steps

After logging into Erudus click on the ‘My Erudus’ button on the top right-hand side.

  • Click on ‘Settings’
  • Select your Alerts from the drop-down list
  • Click ‘Save’

All that’s left to do...

...Is decide whether or not you’d like to employ Product Lists. The new Product Lists feature allows users to create lists of products on Erudus that are of interest to them, and is recommended for Caterer users to employ in order to keep track of changes to the products they are using. You can find out more about Product Lists here.
