Erudus Upgrade: Information for Caterers
Earlier this month Erudus received a major upgrade. We introduced a whole host of new features, enhancements and tools born out of user feedback and designed to make the platform easier to use and more effective than ever.
And there is certainly plenty for Caterers to get excited about - time saving changes, efficiency drivers and new additions to help you keep your customers safe.

Changes to Gluten
We have removed the attribute “Suitable for Coeliac” from our dataset. Instead, we are introducing definitive “free-from” claim attributes for all the 14 major allergens (including Cereals containing Gluten, or gluten) on product specifications.
Caterers will have less ambiguity about the presence and concentration of different gluten sources in the products they are interested in.

Enhanced Characteristics
Further characteristics are being added to make our specification data more comprehensive for the product.
There is now no need for Caterers to request this information from their Wholesalers if they need it, saving them from having to wait for and rely on answers from others.

New Free-from Claims
We’ve added a new ‘Free-from claim’ section to the Erudus Product Editor. Wholesalers having access to this attribute on specifications allows for better filtering on e-commerce platforms, to make shopping for allergen-free products much easier

A new accreditations list
Caterers are able to filter products using accreditations, should they be looking for products accredited with specific certifications. This new list is much more comprehensive and inclusive.

Product Change Alerts
The new Product Change Alerts feature allows users to receive an alert or notification whenever a product of interest in the Erudus Data Pool has a change made to it - this could mean a change in recipe, the addition or removal of allergen ingredients or altered nutritional information.
This functionality has been created to make it easier for our users to find out when changes have been made to products they are interested in.

The new Product Lists feature allows Caterers to create lists of products on Erudus that are of interest to them.

ReadThis will give them faster, easier access to the data for these products - whether that is viewing the spec online or taking the data offline with a CSV export.

Segmenting Brands
This new tool means Caterer users searching the Data Pool benefit from the new tool, by being able to search for products by brand without having to know who the parent manufacturing organisation is.
