Release Notes June 2026: New features, attributes, validations and system fixes to Erudus

At Erudus we’re always looking to improve - to make life easier for our customers and progress further in our mission to make accurate food data more easily and quickly accessible. So we frequently introduce new features to our platform, and perform upgrades and fixes that keep things running smoothly and come as a direct response to any issues that our users are having. With that in mind, here’s what our team have been working on lately…
New Features
All users
Both Product Names in search results
Product search results now display both the "Manufacturer product name" and the "product name", making it easier to identify the right product.
Manufacturer users
Quality Checks
Erudus now shows users a Quality Check notice before publishing a specification where the product’s data looks potentially inconsistent. The first checks cover gluten-free concentration - for example, declaring a cereal as gluten-free (<20ppm) while the ingredients still list “wheat flour”, or naming a product “Gluten Free” when its concentration isn’t <20ppm.
The notices are advisory only, so you can review and still proceed to publishing. More checks will be added over time. You can read a news piece about the Quality Checks here and the Knowledge Base article here.
Wholesaler Users
Auto stepping Wholesaler product codes
There is a new option for auto stepping Wholesaler product codes in the product catalogue. Wholesalers can now set their catalogue to automatically step their code to the latest version of products for all changes, except for when an allergen changes in a product. The Knowledge Base articleHow to enable Automatic Version Stepping for product codes has been updated in accordance with this new feature.
All users
Password Reset error regarding Two-Factor Authentication
Users with two-factor authentication enabled who needed to reset an expired password reported getting stuck in a redirect loop with no way to proceed. This has been resolved - password resets now work correctly regardless of 2FA status.
Halal Suitability cut off Product List PDFs
Product list PDFs with several “May Contain” allergen declarations were widening the allergen columns so that the Halal Suitability column was pushed off the page. The layout has been amended so all columns are visible, regardless of how many “May Contain” allergens are present.
Manufacturer users
Product Editor delays
When publishing changes, some users were finding the Product Editor could take slightly longer than the on-screen indicators suggested - leaving them stuck. Publishing now completes in line with the visual cues.
Permission error with Manufacturer Editor role
Users with the “Manufacturer Editor” role on Erudus were being able to edit company profile information and users - a permission that user type shouldn’t have.
Editing is now correctly restricted to the Admin role only.
Validations
Allergen Statements Mentioning Both Wheat and Spelt
Validation has been adjusted so that a specification declaring it contains wheat while listing spelt under “May Contain” is no longer blocked. The “contains” declaration will correctly take precedence.
“Almond Flavour”
Allergen validation on the on-pack and additional allergen information fields now applies the allergen exceptions, so phrases such as “almond flavour” no longer trigger a false undeclared-allergen error and consequential block to publishing.
