The Erudus Podcast S1, EP4 - Allergy Awareness Week (Allergy UK & Food Allergy Aware)

It’s April, and though the world and the foodservice industry have been turned upside down by the current pandemic, allergens and the issues around them very much remain in play. And so in Episode 4 of the Erudus Podcast, which is live now, we’re celebrating Allergy Awareness Week and speaking to some really exciting guests who are experts in the field.

Host Victoria – herself an allergy sufferer, was lucky enough to interview Head of Clinical Services at Allergy UK Amena Warner, and Caroline Benjamin, the founder of Food Allergy Aware for an in-depth look at the current allergy landscape and what campaigners would like to see happen next.

And co-host Andrew speaks to our own columnist Beth Newton, who’s been giving us the insider’s view on the challenges of everyday life when you have a deadly peanut allergy.

Once again, we go through some of the biggest news stories in the foodservice industry right now, and explore how they might affect and impact those of us in it. This month that includes:

  • How Yorkshire Tea responded to the Twitter storm surrounding their supposed links to the Tory party after that tweet.
  • The potential production of synthetically grown fish.

Now, if you’re wondering whether the Erudus podcast for you, our 2 minute Episode 0 is the perfect primer to help you decide. You can listen to Episode 0 here.
