Release Notes September 2025: New features, attributes, validations and system fixes to Erudus

At Erudus we’re always looking to improve - to make life easier for our customers and progress further in our mission to make accurate food data more easily and quickly accessible to everyone who needs to see it. So we frequently introduce new features to the platform, and perform upgrades and fixes that keep things running smoothly and come as a direct response to any issues that our users are having. With that in mind, here’s what our team have been working on lately…
New Features
All users
Cyber Essentials badge
We have added a Cyber Essentials badge to the website footer at erudus.com, to inform and reassure visitors that Erudus is Cyber Essentials accredited. Cyber Essentials is a government-backed, industry-supported scheme to help organisations protect themselves against common online threats. Wholesaler users
New Range List download
Wholesalers can now download (in CSV format) a copy of the range list they have submitted to Erudus, via the Wholesaler Dashboard.
Caterer users
Purchase history downloads
Caterers that are able to view a Purchase History through the Erudus portal are now able to download their purchase history data in several different formats, such as in CSV format to import into other systems.
Fixes
API users
“Plaintext_ingredients” issue on Ingredient Declaration
There was an issue displaying ingredient declarations using the attribute “plaintext_ingredients” via the API, when certain special characters had been used in said ingredient declaration. This has been resolved and the “plaintext_ingredients” attribute will display the whole declaration without issue.
Manufacturer Users
New column for Product Visibility
For when viewing visibility for their products by Wholesaler, a column has been added to the table to list the Manufacturer’s Product Code for the products that have been tagged by Wholesalers.
Product Editor freezing
There was an issue causing the Product Editor to freeze when completing some of the standards testing attributes in the “Product Characteristics” section. This has been resolved and there should be no more instances of the Product Editor freezing when entering attribute data.
Identification/Health Marks with special characters
Users had found the “Identification/Health Marks” attribute was being validated not to allow certain special characters. This has been relaxed to accommodate non-UK health marks that contain special characters.

Problem with Purchase History PDFs
There was an issue preventing the download of customer Purchase Histories in PDF format via the “Customer Purchases” area of the Wholesaler Dashboard. This has been resolved and customer Purchase Histories will download without issue.
Product codes including # issue
Wholesalers were not being able to find products in their catalogue if the Wholesaler Product Code had a hash (#) in it. The issue causing this has been fixed and hashes can now be used in Wholesaler Product Codes.
New Attributes
Sustainably sourced palm oil
A new attribute has been added so Manufacturers can declare whether palm oil contained in a product is sustainably sourced. This attribute will only be made available for completion when the palm oil attribute is set to “Yes”.
Seasonal dates
Fruit and Vegetable specifications now have attributes to declare the start and end month for when the produce is in season.
