Release Notes May 2026: New features, attributes, validations and system fixes to Erudus

At Erudus we’re always looking to improve - to make life easier for our customers and progress further in our mission to make accurate food data more easily and quickly accessible to everyone who needs to see it. So we frequently introduce new features to the platform, and perform upgrades and fixes that keep things running smoothly and come as a direct response to any issues that our users are having. With that in mind, here’s what our team have been working on lately…
New Features
API users
Cataloged_at” attribute display date
Now, when using ‘catalog’ endpoints to list and get product data, each product will have a ‘cataloged_at’ attribute which will display the date the product was added to the Wholesaler’s catalogue you are accessing.
Remaining calls left headers
When making API calls, additional headers have been made available in the response to allow users to see how many API calls are left for use that day, and when the number will refresh.
Fixes
All users
Error when saving queries in Query Builder
When saving queries using the Query Builder, there would be some instances where the query would save but take the user back to their dashboard - instead of staying in the Query Builder. This has been fixed and users saving queries will remain in the Query Builder.
Manufacturer users
Carbohydrate attribute validation
The validation to ensure that the total carbohydrate value of a product was equal to or greater than the sum of the carbohydrate derivatives (sugar, starch and polyols) was not triggering at very low values. The validation has been fixed and will now validate the carbohydrate attribute regardless of the size of the value entered.
Chemical Specification Type not showing some chemical specific accreditations
Some chemical specific accreditations were not being made available for selection in the Product Editor when using the ‘Chemicals’ Specification Type. This has been resolved and users will find all relevant accreditations are available for all specification types.
API Users
Error with standards testing data to the sandbox
Some Manufacturers publishing products with standards testing data to the sandbox, using version 2 of the Erudus API, were getting errors when trying to return the data after being published. This has been resolved and data published in the sandbox will now be visible without error.
Validations
Enhancements to ‘Allergen Statement on Pack’ and ‘Additional Allergen Information’
Some enhancements have been made to the validation for the ‘Allergen Statement on Pack’ and ‘Additional Allergen Information’ attributes. The validation is now able to better detect ‘may contain’ statements that are found within a larger block of text and validate to ensure the ‘may contain’ declaration is made against the appropriate allergens in the allergen declarations.
New Attributes
Addition to Fish species in Fish & Seafood Specification type
‘Ocean Catfish - Anarhichas Lupus’ has been added as a selection for the ‘Fish Species’ attribute on the Fish & Seafood Specification Type.
