Erudus Sponsor 2020 Food Allergy Mock Trial

After the success of last March’s event, we’ve signed up to sponsor the new Mock Trial from Food Allergy Aware and Blake Morgan.

Back in March we were lucky enough to be part of the inaugural Food Allergy Mock Trial, hosted by training consultancy Food Allergy Aware in partnership with law firm Blake Morgan LLP.

Created with the intention of exploring the legal responsibilities of catering to the customers with food allergies and intolerances, and the consequences of getting it wrong, the venture was such a success that a second event is now in the calendar – and we’re excited to announce Erudus will be one of the sponsors!

Erudus Allergy Trial 2020

Once again presented by Food Allergy Aware and Blake Morgan, 2020’s ‘A Mock Trial – A sentencing in Food Allergy Case’ will serve up a new scenario – of produce being served that has had the allergens incorrectly labelled. The legal responsibilities of each entity involved in the supply chain of food will be examined as well as the concept of due diligence within the industry and product recall.

Attendee delegates will assist the Judge in conducting the sentencing, applying the ‘Guidelines for Sentencing’ that came into force in February 2016 (which have resulted in a significant increase in penalties for offenders). It will give an insight on how sentencing is managed and what is taken into account when penalties are awarded to the defendant, making it an invaluable learning experience for anyone involved with developing, preparing and ordering products and processes in the food and hospitality sector.
