What is the Gross Profit Margin calculator?

The Erudus Gross Profit Margin calculator is a new tool that allows Manufacturers to enter their sales revenue (in pounds) for a product or products, as well as the direct internal cost for the goods sold (the cost of materials and labour). The tool will then calculate the Gross Profit for the revenue generated for the sale of the product (this is calculated as sales of revenue minus the cost of good sold), as well as the Gross Profit margin for the sale of goods as a percentage - this is calculated as the Gross Profit value of the calculation divided by the sales revenue, multiplied by 100.

Who is the Gross Profit Margin calculator for?

The Gross Profit Margin calculator is for Manufacturers, and any Manufacturer user of Erudus with access to the Manufacturer Dashboard (Admin and Editor user roles) will be able to use the tool.

How do I use the Erudus Gross Profit Margin calculator?

To use the calculator, simply enter the values for the Sales Revenue of your product(s) and the cost of goods sold, in the appropriately labelled boxes. The Gross Profit Margin calculator will then do the rest.

You’ll also find sidebar guidance available for each value included in the calculation, to explain what it is, how it is used and how the Gross Profit Margin is calculated.

For each field that needs to be completed, as well as the calculated values, there are adjacent tooltips that provide context for what is required for the calculation, and what the outputs mean.
