Product Origin Guidance

You’re probably aware by now that there’s been an important update in the law regarding product origins. Going forward, the origin of the primary ingredient must be indicated if different from the origin of the food product – so if your milkshake is made in the UK with milk sourced from France, both countries will have to be labelled.

Naturally, we’ve made some updates to Erudus to make it easier for you to comply with this new legislation – so that by the time the enforcement date of 1 April 2020 rolls around, you’ll be sitting pretty.

Our Origin Information” fields have changed slightly, as detailed below:

Additional Origin Details:

This text box is used for the manufacturer to be able to enter additional information about the origin of their products or advise the country of origin/place of provenance of their primary ingredient if needed (in line with the new legislation).

And should you like to get the full picture by reading the legislation document, you can do so here.
