What our industry is demanding from a general election

The country’s biggest story this month was no doubt the announcement of a general election in July, and key bodies in the food, grocery and farming sectors lost no time in setting out their priorities for an incoming government on issues such as the supply chain, retail crime, labour shortages, inflation and health - as reported by The Grocer.

Children with peanut allergies show dramatic improvement - trial

May brought further confirmation that allergies are on the rise - with as many as 1 in 20 adults in the UK recognised as suffering from one, but there is some good news on the horizon for children - according to the BBC, 5 NHS hospitals have joined a £2.5m trial that has so far seen encouraging and dramatic early results.

This massive American fast food chain is coming to the UK

Another burger juggernaut from across the pond is set to make its debut. According to Time Out, Carl’s Jr - famous for its racy advertising campaigns, have teamed up with the Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG), which owns multiple large restaurant franchises to bring their famous chicken burgers and milkshakes to the UK.

France Issues Scratch-and-Sniff Baguette Postage Stamps

Croissants, champagne, Call My Agent - the French have had many great ideas over the years, and according to the New York Times their latest creation is a scented stamp - part of the celebrations of French heritage in the run-up to the Paris Olympics, was unveiled on the feast day of Saint Honoré, the patron saint of bakers.
