At Erudus we’re always looking to improve - to make life easier for our customers and progress further in our mission to make accurate food data more easily and quickly accessible to everyone who needs to see it. So we frequently introduce new features to the platform, and perform upgrades and fixes that keep things running smoothly and come as a direct response to any issues that our users are having. With that in mind, here’s what our team have been working on lately…

New Features

Manufacturer users

Legacy specifications notice on Manufacturer Dashboard

Manufacturers that have Legacy specifications published to their account will now see a banner at the top of their Manufacturer Dashboard advising them to update these legacy specifications. Links to a Knowledge Base article providing illustrated guidance on how to do this and their list of legacy specifications are included.

Legacy Specification tile on Manufacturer Dashboard

A new tile has been added to the Manufacturer Dashboard to display the number of Legacy Specifications that are currently published to the Manufacturer’s account. The Knowledge Base article “How to update a Legacy Specification” has also been updated to reflect that the tile on the dashboard will filter your Product List by Legacy Apecification type for ease of identification.

Per serving option on Traffic Light Labelling

A new option has been added to the “Traffic Light Labelling” attribute in the Product Editor. Manufacturers can now display front of pack traffic light labelling for their product “per serving”, where serving size nutritional information has been provided. Previously the only option was per 100g/ml of the product.

Accommodations for accented letters in validation engine

Due to an issue in which accented letters were not being detected correctly by our validation engine, and consequently there being complications in allergen exceptions being detected correctly, we have made an update to the engine to make accommodations for said accented letters.

New Accreditation groupings in Product Editor

The Accreditations list in the Product Editor has been reordered into different groupings - this in order to make individual accreditations easier to identify and select, when publishing product specifications. The accreditation groups are:

  • Food Safety and Quality Management
  • Environmental and Sustainability Accreditations
  • Sustainable Seafood and Fisheries
  • Agriculture Livestock and Animal Welfare
  • Dietary Suitability
  • Industry Specific and Specialised Schemes

Fixes

Wholesaler users

Manufacturer name not appearing on brand associated specs

When viewing a specification that was associated with a Manufacturer’s brand, users were seeing only the brand visible on the specification. and not the name of the Manufacturer. This has been fixed, and in instances where a Manufacturer has associated a product with a brand, both the brand and the Manufacturer name will be shown on the specification.

Unable to add users

Temporarily, Wholesalers were unable to add users. This has been resolved and users can now be added without issue.

Validations

Traffic Light Labelling attribute

For Manufacturers that set the “Traffic Light Labelling” attribute to “per serving (as sold)”, the necessary per serving attributes are now mandatory in the Product Editor to display the traffic lights correctly on the specification.
